Liverpool is Capital of Culture 2008 and already their arts and culture scene is thriving. Museums, galleries, theatre and live performance are a huge part of city life. 		Outsiders Film Festival Now in its fifth year, the Outsiders Film Festival is Liverpool's cultural festival celebrating queer works on the silver screen. 		Homotopia November 2005 is the date that Liverpool will play host to the hugely successful Homotopia. After launching a pilot programme in November 2004 the festival, which presented a variety of events including film, theatre, comedy, heritage, cabaret and art was a resounding success. 		Merseyside Maritime Museum Explore Liverpool's rich maritime history at this excellent museum where you can lose yourself in the splendour of ocean going liners, ponder the naval and merchant bravery and hardships in war time and positively embarrass yourself at Britain's involvement in the world slave-trade. There is also a very interesting Customs & Excise area and some very well thought out temporary exhibitions. You really can literally get lost at sea here!
