Liverpool's best...

art & culture

Liverpool is Capital of Culture 2008 and already their arts and culture scene is thriving. Museums, galleries, theatre and live performance are a huge part of city life. Why not spend a morning at the Tate Liverpool, take a wander round a museum or two or check out what's on at one of the many theatres and performance venues?

  Merseyside Maritime Museum

Explore Liverpool's rich maritime history at this excellent museum where you can lose yourself in the splendour of ocean going liners, ponder the naval and merchant bravery and hardships in war time and positively embarrass yourself at Britain's involvement in the world slave-trade. There is also a very interesting Customs & Excise area and some very well thought out temporary exhibitions. You really can literally get lost at sea here!
