Famed for its starring role in one of TV's first fly-on-the-wall documentaries, complete with tough taskmistress housekeeper, this is an original Liverpool hostelry.

Just a few minutes walk from Liverpool Lime Street, this hotel is smack bang in the middle of Liverpool's business, leisure and shopping areas.  The rooms are very hotelly, with the sort of furniture you would expect from any chain hotel.  Grading is apparently awaited, but you can also expect lifts to all floors, a couple of restaurants and bars and a gym with swimming pool.

We have yet to nosey around this hotel recently, but a distant memory recalls adequacy, despite an alarmingly busy wallpaper (we're sure they've gotten rid...)
