Radio City Tower, Liverpool

Radio City Tower

Dominating the city's skyline is the unusual Radio City Tower - a beacon that at the very least assists enormously with your sense of direction when out and about.

Originally a throw back to when towers of these type flew up in major cities and revolving restaurants were all the rage, the tower has recently been occupied by Radio City, Liverpool's main radio station.

The tower stands 452 feet above sea level, and obviously being that tall has magnificent panoramic views across the city, merseyside and over to North Wales.

The tower is open for public tours on Saturday and Sunday. Go to the Tourist Information Centre to book. Warning - there are 540 stairs, but luckily there's a lift. You've just gotta hope that the lift doesn't break down....
