G-A-Y promoter Jeremy Joseph has announced that the clubnight is to leave London's Astoria. It’s been a long time coming with rumours of train lines, venue changes and Joseph’s intentions but finally the truth is out... Speaking of the decision to leave the Astoria Joseph said, "After a lot of thought & consideration, choosing to follow my head rather than my heart, it saddens me to announce that G-A-Y is to leave the Astoria after over 15 years of being there four nights a week. I’m not going to lie & pretend I’m not upset about leaving a venue that has been part of gay history and my life." As for G-A-Y’s immediate future fret not. June will see Joseph continue Friday’s G-A-Y Camp Attack until the last weekend of the last Saturday at the Astoria. "That date will be set, once I find the right act to represent the last G-A-Y at the Astoria" said Joseph. Whether G-A-Y will do a Trade and offer bits of The Astoria’s dancefloor to devotees is yet to be seen but whatever the plans expect a roadblock for G-A-Y’s last weekend. Then, perhaps, a railroad!
