And the offending content? Not the garlic or the dodgy New York chef stereotypes but a full on kiss between two men. your commentscomment 2 said by George_Anthony on Wednesday, 25 June 2008, 11:40am I love this advert, and I felt that the perception of gays and lesbians in the media and also public perceptions were begging to change. That they are withdrawing it highlights the narrow-minded, homophobic 200+ people out there with nothing else to do but complain! comment 3 said by Samwell on Wednesday, 25 June 2008, 1:59pm The fact that 200 random complainers have the power to scare a company into thinking that their otherwise quite funny ad is "too gay" is amazing! comment 4 said by Star_Twister on Thursday, 26 June 2008, 7:47am Did anyone see the Wright Stuff (chat Show) with the mother who claimed she wasn't homophobic yet was digging herself a bigger whole and was eventually cut off cause she was sounding more and more homophobic with each word she spoke...... comment 5 said by Timmy on Thursday, 26 June 2008, 10:15am Why would we boycott an advert where a black man is kissing a white woman? I dont see a valid comparison. comment 6 said by Rob on Thursday, 26 June 2008, 12:28pm There is a petition here http://www.petitiononline.com/heinz/petition.html to reinstate the advert comment 7 said by mcrgeorge1 on Sunday, 29 June 2008, 6:14pm Heinz has a long history of producing gay themed advertisements. The two hundred complainers probably all went to church today. Wonder if they had ketchup with their dinners.

To boycott or to not boycott, that is the question. Whether it is nobler in the mind to go without baked beans and ketchup??
