Topping last month's Footballer's Wives party was a bloody tall order, but ask around... ask anyone who made it down there. Ask the DJs if they enjoyed playing. Ask the man in the Gorilla suit if it was bloody hot, ask the snake charmers if they had fun, the dancers if they've had a better night and the fire-breathers if they've ever breathed at a crowd that was having such a great time. Ask The Ones if a party has ever appreciated an Absolutely Flawless performance more!
Oh, the jungle VIP I've reached the top and had to stop And that's what botherin' me I wanna be a man, mancub And stroll right into town And be just like the other men I'm tired of monkeyin' around!" People queued early, and were let in bang on time. The cashiers were ready with their stacks of change and people walked straight in with very little hanging about. Coatcheck... four people on duty up there... music... sen-bloody-sational in all three rooms... decor... fabulous. On top of that an endless offering of pyrotechnics, live PA, snakes, gorillas with sparklers and fire-shows. The venue's air-conditioning just couldn't keep up, but even the heat wasn't dampening anyone's spirits. A bloody fine night of partying. It'd be unfair to challenge them to match it next time... latest news: the night raised a whopping £1,400 which is shared between Stonewall and Pride in Brighton & Hove 2004.
